Welcome to our Old Fashioned Homestead... Our side porch is a great place to enjoy our morning coffee & tea, a wonderful area to enjoy visiting with family and friends... and oh, so relaxing.
Clyde & Emma at the cabin...
Nestled in the Missouri Ozarks. just outside the little ol' town of Rosebud, you'll find our homestead, consisting of our home which is an old fashioned, micro-cottage containing a total of 760 sq ft of living area. Our family Welding business is located near our home as are several log cabins, our garden area and our new little Farm Store. We are located 4 miles South of Rosebud on Highway T. We welcome you and your family or group to visit and enjoy a self-guided walking tour 10 am-6 pm. Hope to see you soon.
Hi, we're Clyde and Emma Zelch. We met in Jr. High, fell in love and married just days after our High School Graduation.
We've been blessed with six children: Zeke, Suzanna, Jacob, Caleb, Seth and Noah.
We have nineteen, yes 19 grandchildren: Garrett, Ella-Grace, Clint, Colt, Cash, Alaina, Mason, Erin, Bryson, Skylar, Alexander, Thomas, Lilly-Jane, Kasper, Karter, Prezley, Kain, Avah-Jane and Dakota. So many grandchildren... we love them all dearly.
Sadly, we lost Garrett a little while ago. May God hold him dear and he rest in peace, until we meet again.....
Now that you've met the family, we can share our goal with you...
That goal is to be nearly self-sufficient, manage our businesses of Welding, our family farm and the teaching of Pioneer Life Skills. We hope to live a more content lifestyle and gain a better appreciation for our family, friends and our home.
We do not wish everyone to be as we are, or do what we do...having said that, we do feel if more people were more content with their surroundings, they could enjoy time with family and friends instead of worrying so much about keeping up with the Jones', as the saying goes....
We have been interested in log cabins and pioneer ways since we met. We fell in love... with each other and a dream. That dream is to become experts in the field of log cabins, pioneer ways and to become nearly self-sufficient. We have built and rebuilt more than 24 cabins, many have been built from trees we have cut right off of various properties and build by hand. It is an art, a forgotten craft. We hope to keep it alive and share it with you and yours while we can.
Our sons help Clyde with his welding business and around the farm.
Clyde teaches a Concealed Weapons Class for the Concealed Carry in the State of Missouri. Clyde holds classes at our homestead or will travel to your site for a class with you and your friends and family. For more information on this Clyde may be reached at 573-764-3719 or on his cell phone at 573-502-3406.
Our only daughter Suzanna, the daughter in laws, Olyvia, Alyssa and Rhiannon along with my sister Sharon, will be occasionally helping me with the canning, gardening and the old fashioned crafts, available at our homestead and village.

Peaceful, isn't it...
